Disability and AIDS: Two Years Later
July 22, 2010
The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities came
into force in international law in 2008. In the same year, the Mexico
City AIDS conference was the first IAC to include disability issues in
the main conference program. Two years later, this session asks "Where
are we now?" Notable AIDS activists, disability advocates and human
rights campaigners, including AIDS-Free World's Myroslava Tataryn, gathered for an interactive session to review and
analyze progress made and obstacles encountered in the push to fulfill
the vision of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in the field of HIV/AIDS. The session was co-sponsored by AIDS-Free World.
